The perfect, most moisturized wash and go

Hello Ladies and Gentlemen, lest I discriminate.

I have been natural for a while and have struggled to keep moisture in my hair. I am the type of natural that doesn't really use protective styles, although I am told that I should. I like simple, easy hair. My favorite go to is the wash and go. That particular hairstyles is best, for me, when it is hot outside. My hair has really grown over this past summer and I want to retain the length this winter. To showcase my curls, I have a new way that I have learned to do my wash and go's and so far, it has been perfect each time. I feel comfortable enough to share.

To start, I am not pushing any particular product or hair care line. I want you to use what you already have that has given you the best results.

So gather: your shampoo or what ever cleansing method you are going to use. A deep conditioner. A cheap conditioner. A leave in conditioner. A hair butter and styling aide.
I also use a wide tooth comb. A conditioning bag (curl cap) and a hooded hair dryer.
Optional: Apple cider vinegar, aloe vera juice, essential oils.

Start off by soaking your hair under running water, set to a luke warm temp. I mean, let the water run over your hair until it is saturated with moisture. Depending on your porosity, this could be a minute or two. Once your hair is saturated, then add your cleaning product to your scalp, shampoo, no poo, cleansing cowash, etc. Massage your scalp with your finger tips. Focus on your hair line and your nape. They are often ignored.
Rinse
Next apply your cheap conditioner and coat your hair. now is the time to gently detangle with your fingers only. Really take your time with this process to remove as many knots as you can.
Rinse.
Now add your deep conditioner. Focus on your ends and work your way up to the scalp. Separate into workable sections and use your wide tooth comb, if needed to remove the other tangles. I usually do 4. After each section is detangled, twist it up in a bantu knot or use a clamp. Place the baggie on your head and let that conditioner marinate for thirty minutes under a hooded dryer.
Take those sections down one at a time and rinse, but keep it separated. (At this time, you can squirt it with aloe vera juice, ice cold from the frig)
Now, here is where the magic happens.
With your hair soaking wet, still leaning over the sink or in the shower, take one section and apply your leave in conditioner. Apply from tip to root. Make sure each section is coated. next apply your hair butter or oil. Rake through. Finally add your hair gel/ styling aid. Your hair should still be really wet. The water assists with spreading your product so you don't have to use as much. Once the styling aid is in, DO NOT TOUCH IT!
Repeat with the other sections.
Now, allow the product to sit for at least thirty minutes prior to diffusing. I just let mine air dry.
The results, soft shiny bouncy elongated curls.

day one

day 4 ( I thought I was cute)
