Mud Shampoo

Hello World!

I have been really enjoying my hair lately. I'm not sure if it is because I work from home now and don't manipulate my strands as much, or if it is because I have been living on the edge with everything that is going on with my family. Either way, the hair has been glorious. I'm the type that looks forward to wash day because I love to keep my hands in my hair. I have to touch it, twirl it, pull it, etc. That makes me happy. But this week, I have been having such a good hair experience, I didn't want to wash it. But my scalp began getting a little itchy and I definitely can't have that. So after going to the gym and doing my ab crunch challenge, I washed my hair. Then I washed Isaiah's hair and then Carlos Jrs. hair. I went hair washing crazy. I have been digging in the crate of my hair supplies, going back to some oldies but goodies. The goodies that I used briefly because I am a product junkie and I'm always looking for the next best (popular) thing. I decided to retry my mud wash last week, along with a deep conditioner, and it wash a magnificent experience. I had great swing, great moisture and curls. I had to make sure this wasn't a fluke, so I wanted to see if I could repeat the experience, and it is just as wonderful. So here is the recipe for both the deep conditioner and the mud smoothie.

Deep conditioner:
1 cup of your cheapest or most disliked conditioner
1 tablespoon of olive oil
several drops of rosemary, lavender, tea tree oil, vit. E oil, whatever you have
1 tablespoon jojoba oil or castor oil

Mix this together, apply to dry hair and let it marinate as long as you desire.
Rinse

Apply your mud smoothie

1/3 cup bentonite clay
1tsp tea tree oil
6 drops rosemary essential oil
2 tsp avocado oil
2 tsp olive oil
1/2 tsp honey
1/2 cup aloe vera juice
1/2 cup water

Place these ingredients in a bowl (glass or plastic NOT metal) blend with a hand mixer until a smoothie thick consistency. This should make about 8 ozs or so.
Divide hair into 4 pony tails/ sections and apply this mixture. Let it sit on your hair for about 30 minutes to an hour. Rinse.

Seal your hair with your favorite oil and cream and style.

You will love your hair and you will love me for giving you the recipe.
You're welcome....
